JACKSONVILLE, FL – Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried has endorsed Joshua Hicks in his race for the Florida House of Representatives in District 11, which covers all of Nassau County and the Beaches area of Duval County.

Since entering the race in May 2020, Hicks has picked up major organizational endorsements, built momentum, and steadily chipped away at his opponent’s cash on hand advantage.

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried issued the following statement on her endorsement:

“I’m proud to endorse Joshua Hicks for the Florida House in District 11. His nonprofit sector experience working on healthcare access and climate change will be invaluable as Florida continues to address these challenges. The people of Florida’s 11th District deserve a state representative who will place people and families first in every policy decision that is made, and I know Joshua will be that leader. I also understand a thing or two about overcoming the obstacles and winning a tough race. Joshua and his campaign have what it takes and I’m proud to offer him my full support.”

Democratic candidate Joshua Hicks reacted to the endorsement:

“Commissioner Nikki Fried is dedicated to improving the lives of every Floridian regardless of who they are or their political leanings – and it shows in the policies that she fights for. She works hard, she listens, and she places people first. Those are the leadership traits that I bring to this campaign and that will drive my work in the Florida House of Representatives. I’m honored to have Commissioner Fried’s endorsement, and I look forward to working with her in Tallahassee.”
